I’m On One [Squared]: Two New Remixes

Today I have two remixes of “I’m On One” by Lil Wayne, Drake, and Rick Ross. I was skeptical of the original version of this song because I’m not really into the rap scene nowadays. But, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it, and these remixes are no exception.

I’m One One – KillaGraham Remix

I’m On One – Styles&Complete Remix

Check the SoundCloud players, download one or download them both. Enjoy.

Chill Dubstep Vibes: Sia – Breathe Me (Butch Clancy Remix)

There’s a whole lot to be said about this song, but I’m not going to say it because it speaks for itself. Butch Clancy has done an outstanding job complementing beautiful piano and vocals with bass and synth to create a relaxed electronic masterpiece.

It’s a Rainy Day: Dubstep Content

It’s raining today, and I’ve been a bit lazy in looking for new content as of late. But I wouldn’t want to keep any of you waiting, would I? Of course not.

Here are a few songs that I’ve had on repeat lately. Enjoy.

Dubstep Has Changed: A Small Look Back

People think they know about dubstep, but the truth is that a lot of those people really don’t. I don’t claim to be an expert by any means, but dubstep has undoubtedly changed a lot since its origins in the London underground music scene. Some say for the better, but those who were “first” on the scene probably aren’t fans of where the genre has gone.

Here’s an example of some early dubstep. Skream has been one of the most prominent dubstep producers/dj’s out there. Personally, I love this song.

Skream – Midnight Request Line – Download

For those of you who prefer something more modern, I don’t blame you. Early dubstep isn’t for everyone, and don’t let people criticize you for listening to the newer stuff (unless you listen to Bass Nectar, then it’s totally justified). Here are a couple of examples of newer dubstep that I’ve been listening to as of late.

Paper Diamond – All We Do Is (Drake Throw It In The Bag Remix) – Download

Skrillex – Equinox – Download

Apparently, Equinox has been a super-anticipated release. This version isn’t even final yet, so for everyone looking forward to what the final product will sound like, there you go. But back to the point, whether you like old dubstep or new, I hope you find this post enjoyable.

Some Monday Dubstep: Britney Spears – Hold It Against Me (Jacob Plant Remix)

Alright ladies and gents, let me apologize for being such a lazy poster…I mean, after all, I have been on spring break 🙂

But that’s neither here nor there. What I’m about to post will hopefully revitalize your interest. For those of you who don’t know, dubstep producer Rusko has been collaborating with Britney Spears on new songs. You’ve probably heard her latest, “Hold It Against Me” on the radio. It contains very little in terms of dubstep, but people seem to like it. This version here is closer to what some dubstep actually sounds like. Enjoy.

Dubstep Mini-Feature: Bar 9

I’m going to be honest here, there isn’t much I know about Bar 9. I feel like I should know more because I have a few remixes in my iTunes library, but after hearing such great tracks, I didn’t really care about anything else.

Bar 9’s Facebook as well as their myspace (who uses that anymore?) have pretty much zilch in terms of information. They’re from the UK though, and all you need to know, is that’s where all the good dubstep comes from. Here are two of my favorites. Enjoy.

Something Newer: “Unorthodox” (Bar 9 Remix)

Something Older: “Kickstarts” (Bar 9 Remix)

Dubstep of the Day: “Rock it Roll it (Dirtyloud Dubstep Remix)” – Tim Healey and Calverton

Usually I wouldn’t update so soon, but I came upon this track on Quantum DnB’s YouTube page and I loved it so much that I had to share.

I like dubstep a lot; not necessarily the really “noisy” tracks, but a solid bass wobble and maybe some vocals (and of course the drop!), and I can get really sucked in if it all works in harmony. This track does just that.

Do yourself a favor and listen in HD. Your ears will thank you.  Download this awesome track!

On To the Next One: “Night By Night” – Project Aspect Remix

The blog is new, the content is newer. See the “about” section to see what I’m all about here at Minty Medium.

But why waste time?

Here’s Project Aspect’s remix of “Night by Night” by Chromeo. Now normally, this song is awesome by itself, but this glitched out dubstep version is sure to be a crowd pleaser for all of you dub heads. For die hard Chromeo fans, I apologize for the blasphemy.

Enjoy.
